I received a call this morning from a person looking for a home near downtown Scottsdale. It's not unusual for me to receive calls & emails from people all over the Country (& other Countries) who want to be close to Downtown/OldTown Scottsdale. Downtown Scottsdale has always been world famous however it just continues to get better & better. It's somehow managed to maintain the "OldTown" ambiance combined with a new energized feeling & modernized look of the waterfront area of sophistication. People of all generations want to be near this area. The "Young Man" who phoned me this morning said he currently lived in North Phoenix & felt he made a "Mistake" when he moved to North Phoenix. I asked him why he made a mistake and he replied "All the places he likes to go a night were in downtown Scottsdale & he didn't like making the long drive". I can't tell you how many times I have heard this! People want to be close to the clubs & nightlife that is so vibrant in Downtown Scottsdale. People call me & request "Walking distance to Downtown". Older generations like to be close to downtown since all the best shopping & great restaurants are located centrally in this area. This isn't to say there are not great restaurants elsewhere, however the BEST shopping (in my opinion) is right downtown. The popularity of Downtown has grown (& continues to grow) tremendously in the Downtown area. Developers have put in new condos & townhouses ranging in price from $.5M to well over $1M. To name a few: El Dorado on 1st, Optima on Camelview, Sage Condo's, Scottsdale Waterfront Residences, Third Ave Lofts, Hotel Valley HO, The Mark Condos, & Safari Drive. All luxury properties which are pretty much within walking distance in Downtown Scottsdale. Check out The Sage below. You can walk down the canal walkway right into Downtown!
